Ashley Judd is a successful actress and activist, but there's speculation that she could be throwing her hat into the political ring.
The "Double Jeopardy" star's name has been floated around as a potential candidate to run against Kentucky's Republican Senator Mitch McConnell in 2014.
Political pundits and politicians from Judd's home state of Kentucky are enthusiastic about the idea. According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) said, ”If you had an Ashley Judd-McConnell race, I think it would be as high profile a race as Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown."
”The money would pour in here as soon as she entered the race,” added Yarmuth.
However, Judd, who is a Democrat and campaigned for President Obama, tempered the rumor mill, telling US Weekly, "I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I'm very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let's focus on coming together to keep moving America's families, and especially our kids, forward."
